“The Code Switcha” album will be available via all digital platforms including Beatport, Spotify, Apple Music, What People Play and more beginning Friday September 13th, 2019.
As part of this debut we’ve produced a 60 second digital promo for the track “HustLA”. It’s the most aggressive track off the album. The track with the most “UR” influence. So it was appropriate to provide some political imagery from our current times. Check the video below. Big thanks to Naheedence Photographic for the amazing production: https://naheedence.com
Yaxteq is proud to announce that DJ Dex and Esteban Adame will perform an El Coyote DJ set at México’s Bahidorá festival on February 15th, 2019. El Coyote will be part of an Underground Resistance showcase along side John Collins and Mark Flash of Underground Resistance. Check the images below for details and the VIDEO below for 10 minutes of DJ Dex at Club XO in Mexico City back in 2009! Saludos!
Official Yaxteq announcement! The “Code Switcha” album is now being pressed at Archer Record Pressing in Detroit and is expected to start shipping worldwide in November.
If you haven’t already please have a listen via SoundCloud below. Once again huge thanks to our featured visual artists; Howard Davy for his design of the Nomadico mascot (yuru-chara) and Chaz Bojorquez for his amazing rendering of the “Nomadico” lettering in his iconic style.
DJ Dex aka Nomadico has written and produced 10 new unreleased tracks for this double LP “The Code Switcha”.
It features a range of tempos and sonic dynamics; from the slow burns of “RTD 60” and “909 Soto Street” to the full
on energy of “Machine Learning for Homeboy” and “HustLA”. There are also electro funk tracks like “Still Cruisin”,
“Radio 3031323” and “Backyard Trippin”. Meanwhile, the moods and textures of “Introversion”, “Innermission” and
“Staring Problem” are for deep listening. All of these are fused together by atmospheric pads, touches of acid and a
veteran DJ’s sense of rhythm and timing.

A wild night and great times were had this past Saturday at Hyperion Tavern in Los Angeles. The Black Lodge is a monthly party at The Hyperion Tavern with a mix of local and out of town guests. Vikas and Jason are doing a great job creating an intimate yet rowdy party. The music is varied from Techno bangers to moodier House and vocal cuts. Rumor has it the sets were recorded so I’ll post a recording up here as soon as possible. In other news I’m working on adding e-commerce features to this site. So that means soon you’ll be able to order various DJ Dex and Nomadico vinyl releases directly from my studio here in Los Angeles. I’ve got plans for t-shirts, stickers and other goodies too. Finally there will of course be the option to buy tunes digitally in uncompressed .wav format.
I’m proud to announce that the vinyl test pressings for Yaxteq 001 have been approved. Submerge in Detroit will be the first and exclusive source for white label pre-release copies. These will be available Memorial Day weekend. The full release for vinyl and digital is scheduled for early summer.
