“The Code Switcha” album will be available via all digital platforms including Beatport, Spotify, Apple Music, What People Play and more beginning Friday September 13th, 2019.
As part of this debut we’ve produced a 60 second digital promo for the track “HustLA”. It’s the most aggressive track off the album. The track with the most “UR” influence. So it was appropriate to provide some political imagery from our current times. Check the video below. Big thanks to Naheedence Photographic for the amazing production: https://naheedence.com
Coming up fast on Friday November 2nd, our good friends at Into The Woods will host Mark Flash of Underground Resistance. Mark is a skillfully versatile DJ and producer who is currently performing live with Mad Mike Banks as Depth Charge. Check the video below from a recent performance at Funkhaus in Berlin! DJ Dex and Esteban Adame will perform a B2B DJ set as “El Coyote”. Esteban has had a great year following up last year’s El Coyote release on Yaxteq with releases on esteemed labels Jealous God (as Frequencia), Dolly and Mister Saturday Night out of NYC. DJ Dex aka Nomadico has just released the digital LP “The Code Switcha” available via the Yaxteq shop here and coming soon on VINYL via fine record shops worldwide.
Also warming up will be Maheras aka Jimmy Maheras who was an attendee at Claude Young’s Yaxteq Lab a couple of years ago.
Official Yaxteq announcement! The “Code Switcha” album is now being pressed at Archer Record Pressing in Detroit and is expected to start shipping worldwide in November.
If you haven’t already please have a listen via SoundCloud below. Once again huge thanks to our featured visual artists; Howard Davy for his design of the Nomadico mascot (yuru-chara) and Chaz Bojorquez for his amazing rendering of the “Nomadico” lettering in his iconic style.
DJ Dex aka Nomadico has written and produced 10 new unreleased tracks for this double LP “The Code Switcha”.
It features a range of tempos and sonic dynamics; from the slow burns of “RTD 60” and “909 Soto Street” to the full
on energy of “Machine Learning for Homeboy” and “HustLA”. There are also electro funk tracks like “Still Cruisin”,
“Radio 3031323” and “Backyard Trippin”. Meanwhile, the moods and textures of “Introversion”, “Innermission” and
“Staring Problem” are for deep listening. All of these are fused together by atmospheric pads, touches of acid and a
veteran DJ’s sense of rhythm and timing.
