Official Yaxteq announcement! The “Code Switcha” album is now being pressed at Archer Record Pressing in Detroit and is expected to start shipping worldwide in November.
If you haven’t already please have a listen via SoundCloud below. Once again huge thanks to our featured visual artists; Howard Davy for his design of the Nomadico mascot (yuru-chara) and Chaz Bojorquez for his amazing rendering of the “Nomadico” lettering in his iconic style.
DJ Dex aka Nomadico has written and produced 10 new unreleased tracks for this double LP “The Code Switcha”.
It features a range of tempos and sonic dynamics; from the slow burns of “RTD 60” and “909 Soto Street” to the full
on energy of “Machine Learning for Homeboy” and “HustLA”. There are also electro funk tracks like “Still Cruisin”,
“Radio 3031323” and “Backyard Trippin”. Meanwhile, the moods and textures of “Introversion”, “Innermission” and
“Staring Problem” are for deep listening. All of these are fused together by atmospheric pads, touches of acid and a
veteran DJ’s sense of rhythm and timing.

It was a long hot summer in L.A. but towards the end my family and I got away to Detroit for a few days to visit family and friends. The Yaxteq studio also needed some serious electrical repairs so production was on hold. As a result of all this, it’s been quiet around here. But there’s now plenty of news to report so here we go!!
My Dublab appearance will be a nice preview of my performance at the Strawberry Fields Festival in Australia (November 17th-20th). Myself and DJ Skurge will be performing as the Underground Resistance Assault Squad. The full line-up is available here: http://www.strawberry-fields.com.au/music/
As a bonus, we’ll be kicking things off with a pre-party on Friday November 11th in Melbourne before heading out to the ‘bush’ for the festival. Check out the flyer below. Thanks for your time and reading this far into the post!! ; )

Huge thanks to Claude Young and the crew of serious musicians, producers and artists that attended Yaxteq Lab 001. After the initial social hour and dinner, Claude went deep into his creative process. There was discussion on improving the creative work flow, essential software plugins, integrating hardware and software, thinking ‘outside’ the grid and so much more. The second half of the lab was all hands on as Claude helped one of the crew improve the mix of a current project. The lab ended up running an extra hour as there was just so much to be covered. We can’t wait for Yaxteq Lab 002. Check out the photos courtesy of Naheedence Photographic! http://www.naheedence.com
